I perfectly knew that people would over-react about Reach Out’s music video. I mean, it’s no big deal. You make it look dirty for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with the thumb-sucking [I’m not saying that just because I’m a fan] but since you’re all too green and dirty-minded sickos, you’re thinking that it’s suggests or implies sexual pleasures.
Do you know why I had to say that? Because Reach Out is banned from airplay on US Television, UNLESS…
Unless the management replaces the dirty scenes with more friendly ones. They have done this but I think it’s only for Canada. They were actually planning to let the ‘dirty’ version be played on US Television, or even worldwide. Officials thought the video was too raunchy and sexy and racy and too hot to handle, so that’s what they do. — There’s nothing to be ashamed of for being sexy, Hilary.
— And that they think that the outfits are too ’saucy.’ Psshhh. You wish. What’s wrong with a humongous dress and short shorts?
If the officials think that the video is too controversial, I didn’t hear them say anything about other controversial videos. Sure, they were forced to black-and-white out Paris’ ‘Stars are Blind’ or overlay a smoke on Britney’s naked body on ‘Womanizer’ but can’t you just say the controversies on those videos are fairly worse? Sorry to the fans, but I had to compare.
Don’t tell me ‘there’s always a first‘. None of Hilary’s music videos were ever censored. But, ugh… nevermind. You get the thought.
Here’s the original article:
Duff’s Video Censored
Officials have censored Hilary Duff’s new music video, deeming the promo too raunchy for U.S. TV.
The promotional film for Duff’s latest single, “Reach Out,” shows the pop star posing in a variety of saucy outfits, including bondage gear and a blindfold.
But officials have decided footage of Duff licking a male actor’s finger like a lollipop is too racy, according to JustJared.com.
Duff has now been forced to delete the clip from the video and insert less controversial footage into the final version.
