Hilary Duff breezes into her Cosmo cover shoot at a New York City photo studio and cheerily gives out hugs and kisses to everyone on set. You’d never know the girl hasn’t been getting much sleep lately until she makes a desperate request: “A skim latte with an extra shot of espresso — please!”And while some young celebs require an energy boost because they’ve been hanging at nightclubs until the wee hours, Hilary’s just seeking to fuel her ambitious work agenda. Spotted out at Barney’s of New York in Beverly Hills on Saturday for a little retail therapy,  Hilary Duff recently spoke to Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos about weight issues in Hollywood - offering up her take on the controversial issue.

“In Hollywood there’s a lot of pressure, at least in the weight category. How do you deal with that?” Maria asked Hilary.

“They said things before, you know like, ‘Oh my gosh! She’s gained weight!’ And then I lose weight and then it’s, ‘Oh my god, she has lost too much weight!’ I think that when you just laugh about it and you don’t let it effect you. It’s easier said then done, definitely, because it hurts your feelings and it gets to you, and we’re just human,” Hilary tells.

And while the 20-year-old is quite comfortable with her current physique, that doesn’t mean that she goes without working out.

“I work with a Pilates trainer,” Hilary revealed, adding, “I am so bad at exercising outside of Pilates. It’s just not fun, it’s like I just can’t make myself go.”

While her ex Joel Madden preps for a new baby with Nicole Richie, singer Hilary Duff is delaying her own plans to start a family.

“I’m definitely not ready to get married,” Duff, 20, tells Cosmopolitan in its January issue. “I think a reason that people in this business get married young is that they feel like everything comes to them sooner in life. It’s normal to be like, ‘Okay, what’s next?’ ”

Having famously dated Good Charlotte musician Madden for 18 months ? before they broke up in November 2006 ? Duff is currently dating NHL player Mike Comrie.

On the heels of this week’s Jennifer Love Hewitt controversy about body image, Duff said that, as a scrutinized starlet, she has fretted about her weight.

“You lose some happiness when that’s all you think about,” Duff says. “There definitely was a time, about a year and a half ago, when I was pretty obsessed with my body and my weight, but I’m better not stressing about my body all the time.”

She adds, “It’s not attractive when girls get super-skinny. Guys don’t like it. Girls don’t like you as much.”

Next year, Duff will be tackling her first serious movie role, in War, Inc., costarring John Cusack. This year she spent promoting her latest CD, Dignity, which hit stores in April.

HILARY DUFF may have sexed up her image, but she’s definitely no Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton.The popular singer/actor doesn’t understand the troubles of many of her contemporaries.
Hilton and Lohan recently spent time in jail for driving under the influence, while Spears has battled her own drug woes and undergone rehabilitation treatment. Spears also faces jail time for a hit-and-run incident earlier this year.

“I don’t know why they are running into those kinds of problems, like getting DUI (driving under the influence) and that,” Duff told Insider.
“If someone is 20 or 21 and they want to go out to a club and dance and drink or do whatever, that is normal. “They are just acting their age, but (if) everyone is paying attention to you because you are who you are … like, it just seems like it is so easy to avoid. “Getting a DUI or even getting in a car after you’ve been drinking … like, hire a driver.”

Duff, 20, went from girl next door to all grown up for the release of her latest album, Dignity. Known the world over as the blonde cutie film and television character Lizzie McGuire, Duff dyed her hair dark and unashamedly sexed up her image.
